Grasmere W.I.

We meet at 2pm upstairs at the Tithe Barn, which is on the left of the Rectory. The Rectory is opposite St Oswald's Church.

Find us by going in through the Rectory gate, walk past the front door of the Rectory, and follow the path round to a ground floor door on your right. There is a lift for those who need it.

At the entrance members of Grasmere WI pay 50p for a raffle ticket .(£3 for visiting WI members ) This money goes towards the cost of the hall and speakers, and tea and cakes is included. The prize is provided by one of our members.

The meeting begins with the singing of Jerusalem.

The minutes of the previous meeting are then read and agreed. Notices about forthcoming WI events at local and national level are then given, and often lists are circulated to sign up for events.

We then settle back and enjoy our speakers. The list of speakers can be found on the meetings page. Our speakers often illustrate their talks with photographs or with displays of objects on their subject. We learn a lot and thoroughly enjoy the enthusiam of speakers.

After the speakers- the famous W I tea! Tea and homemade cakes, with plenty of chatter and a chance to talk with the speaker.

If you are thinking of joining the W.I., why not come along for a free taster meeting?  Just check the meeting list, and if you're not sure where to come, contact any member and we'll meet up with you and bring you along.

If you're a WI member on holiday in Grasmere we would love to welcome you to one of our meetings.
