News of recent Grasmere WI activities and fundraising

Grasmere WI raises money for the Great North Air Ambulance.

Every year we hold a Gather Day to collect your unwanted items which will raise money for the GNAA “Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance”. This essential service requires in excess of £4 million a year and receives no government funding relying solely on the support of the general public.

Our next Gather Day is Tuesday 21st February 2017

In St Oswald’s Church from 9-30 am. -2-30 pm.

Your unwanted items are recycled and will help keep the Air Ambluance flying and can help saves lives.

If you are interested to know more about the GNAA and how they work please come to our February WI meeting at 2pm, Thursday 9th Feburary in the Tithe Barn. This is an open meeting. All welcome. £3 for non members includes tea and cakes.

As always we welcome Bed Linen, Blankets, Curtains, Wearable Clothing, Belts,Handbags and Shoes, also but in separate bags old Ink Cartridges, old Mobile Phones,DVDs, CDs, Books and Stamps and would be most grateful for any donations you may wish to make.

Please try to use official Air Ambulance bags which can be obtained from Pat on 35079, Ann on 35305,  from a box at the back of Church or from Grasmere Coop. The bag also gives information about what is acceptable for collection.

Light refreshments available from 9-30am to 2pm, a cake stall, all in aid of the Air Ambulance.

Filled bags may be left at the back of Church between 12-30pm & 4pm  on Sunday Feb 19th and Mon 9am to 4pm. Or brought to the Tithe Barn between 2pm & 4pm on Thurs. 9th.Feb.

Our 2016 Gather Day on 16 February raised a total of £1,313 for the GNAA. Many thanks to all who helped raised this excellent total. Let's try to beat this in 2017.

Grasmere WI also raises money for the Macmillan Nurses, the charity which provides invaluable support to cancer patients and their families. The next Macmillan Coffee Morning will be held on Friday 29 September 2017.
